NOC Technician

Position Department: Network Operations Position
Position Description: First-level monitoring and troubleshooting of network anomalies. Interface with customers for service calls. Coordinate repair with field service personnel. Internal and external escalations when appropriate.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Monitor trouble-ticket queue
  • Network monitoring
  • Customer support calls
  • First level troubleshooting
  • Moves, adds, and changes
  • Internal and external escalations

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years in network monitoring or service desk position
  • 1-2 years experience with Cisco routers, switches and firewalls. CCNA preferred
  • Some network security experience a definite plus
  • General knowledge of telecommunications and data communications networks and equipment
  • Some Voice over IP (VoIP) experience preferred
  • Hands on experience with SNMP monitoring systems
  • Hands on experience with ticket or service desk systems
  • Good people / customer skills
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
